A Day in Old Town Fair Oaks

A fun day in Fair Oaks Villages
Brandon and I went to old town Fair Oaks and ate at the Sunflower Cafe where I quickly made friends with a rooster. Yup true bosom buddies. Brandon was jealous.

After, we went and looked at the great view over looking the American River. It was a long way down. We found a tree where the ground had fallen away but the roots were still firmly attached to what was left.

Woahh, steady, steady...dunt da da

This is quite cozy...a perfect place for a bird nest.

We found a tree with a hollow center and inside found beer bottles and lots of creepy stuff.

Brandon has spotted his prey and is about to attack.

I caught him falling in mid-air

This is the beautiful view and you can see the tree that the earth has fallen away from in the background.

boys will be boys

The guns, the excitment, the unlimited amunition! I was caged inside the octagon and I had to fight or flight. I'm not one for flighting. Perhaps i was a little harsh on my opponent, but he started it!

My 1st Attempt at Making Homemade Bread

This is the recipe that I used for my first homemade bread. I got it from my mom. Sunday the lesson in Relief Society was on Homemaking. Brandon always wanted me to make bread, so I took this as a little push and finally bought the ingrediants that I needed to make it from scratch. It wasn't that difficult...but it took patience. The recipe that my mom gave me made 4 loaves...so I had to figure out a 1/4 of that so I wasn't over loaded with bread.
So far so good. Now I have to wait a while so the dough can rise. This was 100% whole wheat. My mother is the ultimate Molly Mormon so growing up I was able to watch and learn from her. B/c of her I was more comfortable doing this on my own...needless to say I did call her up a few times to double check on some things.
The dough is getting BIGGER!!!

Next step...

Final product...not too bad I would say. It tasted good to. Well I can check that off my list of things to attempt. Now all I have to do is PERFECT it.

Billion Beach Family Trip

This was our sleeping arrangment the last night in Dillion Beach. We gave up the biggest room to my parents. Brandon and I slept on a bed that pulls out from the wall. It was cool b/c I never slept on that type of bed before. We had to rearrange all of the furniture in the room to make room for the bed. Just got to love family trips.
While on the beach we saw a baby seal that came on shore. It was like an attraction b/c it brought so many people over. We were able to get pretty dang close to the seal. It didn't seem to mind people. Which could be a good thing or a bad thing. I really wanted to touch it...but I didn't.

The waves at Dillion Beach were so big and out of control that they washed Brandon to shore. Brandon had a good workout just trying to get far enough out to ride the waves in. The water was really cold. Thank goodness for a wet suit.

The beach house we stayed in was really close to the rocks. So when the tide was down we went out and checked out the sea life. It was really nifty. There was a lot of starfish and crabs.

We spent a good amount of time in the sand dunes. It was really exhausting after a while. I guess you could say it was part of our workout for the day. There was a lot of mist and fog...which gave the beach a really cool mysterious effect.

We went to the Sac Zoo for Tiani's B day in May

This was Brandon's favorite animal.

This is the animals favorite human.

Tiani found how to get this picture without any cage bars in it.

One of these animals is caged. Is she looking in at the tiger, or is the tiger looking in at her?

Mother, what's a looong neck?

Brandon's B-day

For Brandon's 27th b-day we did a lot of cool things. That night we hung with a group of friends at the Skating Rink by the Sunrise Mall. It was really fun. We dressed up to the theme of 70's. DISCO. It was pretty entertaining.

The 4th of July

That night after watching the firework show and eating ice cream at Leatherby's, Brandon and I went to the Parry's home and hung out with a few other couples. We did some illigal fireworks...well some other people did :) It was really fun...but we were constantly on the lookout for cops. Thank gooodness we didn't have to deal with them.
That morning I was able to get a picture of my handsome man sleeping...all wrapped up in my baby blanket. It was priceless.
That morning Brandon and I were privilaged to attend Jane's baptism. It was a very special day. It was a really nice way to start our 4th of July. After the baptism we went and ate a yummy lunch at Jane's other grandparent's house.

Ok so Brandon and I kept ourselves busy while waiting for the firework show to begin in the Sunrise mall. I guess you could say that we had a little too much fun. This is the SOUR face.

I have no idea what you would call this face but it was fun...we were entertaining the other people around us. Hey everyone has a dorky side. We just happen to have two.

Fun Memories Together

A little nappy nap...such a hard worker. That's my handsome man.

I love you!!!

Brandon frosting a cake we made at my best friend' house...Deleste Magda. After watching a performance at Bear River High School. It was the last performance of the year for Starlite Express. A show pop group of high schoolers that I choreographed for. Lots of hard work and it payed off. Now the years off.

Brandon and I babysitting Keaton. This is what happens to your kids when you leave them with us. Everyone to your battle stations. KeKe was a blast. Such an adorable kid. He's checking to make sure the coast is clear...for brandon.

I guess you could say KeKe was well protected from just about anything. You don't mess with him. He's a really tough soldier and hard to beat.

We recently went to Santa Cruz to chaperone Hayley and her friends. We did some intense goofing off, and tried our hand at a matrix'esq' jump over the sand pit. When that didn't work so well, I resorted to chasing birds. Hayley stayed out of trouble and we had plenty of time to get into it :)
